چکیده
During Computed Tomography (CT) scan examinations, it is important to ensure a good diagnosis by providing the maximum information detect pathologies and this can be done with reduced dose. In respect, several methods of dose reduction have been studied evaluated. This work investigates effect tube voltage while varying current on image quality radiation at Chest CT examination. study was conducted HITACHI 16 slice Scanner using two phantoms for evaluating quality; PMMA phantom CATPHAN 500. Two voltages 120 KVp 100 used some variation currents (mAs) recording values measured quantities (CTDIv, spatial resolution, contrast noise ratio CNR noise). The scanning examination led in CTDIv until 45 %, an increase from 17 % Spatial Resolution fell slightly (6 7 pl/cm) compared KVp. shows slight regression 11 22 has shown that despite low KVp, possible reduce up without degradation Further works will evaluate acquisition parameters other examinations.

Effect of Low Tube Voltage on Image Quality, Radiation Dose, and Low-Contrast Detectability at Abdominal Multidetector CT: Phantom Study
PURPOSE To investigate the effect of low tube voltage (80 kV) on image quality, radiation dose, and low-contrast detectability (LCD) at abdominal computed tomography (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS A phantom containing low-contrast objects was scanned with a CT scanner at 80 and 120 kV, with tube current-time product settings at 150-650 mAs. The differences between image noise, contrast-to-noise ...

OBJECTIVE We wanted to determine minimal tube current (mAs) required for consistently good image quality on conventional 10-mm collimation chest CT and effect of tube current reduction on detection of mediastinal and lung abnormalities. Tube current reduction is desirable to reduce patient radiation dose. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Prospectively, 30 consecutive patients (mean weight, 68 kg; range, ...
متن کاملOptimization of Parameters in 16-slice CT-scan Protocols for Reduction of the Absorbed Dose
Introduction In computed tomography (CT) technology, an optimal radiation dose can be achieved via changing radiation parameters such as mA, pitch factor, rotation time and tube voltage (kVp) for diagnostic images. Materials and Methods In this study, the brain, abdomen, and thorax scaning was performed using Toshiba 16-slice scannerand standard AAPM and CTDI phantoms. AAPM phantom was used for...
متن کاملPrinciples of CT: radiation dose and image quality.
This article discusses CT radiation dose, the measurement of CT dose, and CT image quality. The most commonly used dose descriptor is CT dose index, which represents the dose to a location (e.g., depth) in a scanned volume from a complete series of slices. A weighted average of the CT dose index measured at the center and periphery of dose phantoms provides a convenient single-number estimate o...
متن کاملA new look at CT dose measurement: beyond CTDI.
Equations are derived for generating accumulated dose distributions and the dose line integral in a cylindrical dosimetry phantom for a helical CT scan series from the single slice dose profiles using convolution methods. This exposition will better clarify the nature of the dose distribution in helical CT, as well as providing the medical physicist with a better understanding of the physics in...
